NeuronIdle is a free idle game developed by Thendril (the "Developer"). This policy describes what data the NeuronIdle Android application and the neuronidle.com website collect, how it is used, and your rights.
1. Data Collection
Local-first by default. The game stores all gameplay progress locally on your device. No account or registration is required to play.
Optional online features (Google Play Games sign-in, leaderboards, achievements sync, cloud save, in-app purchases) are opt-in. When you enable them, the following data is processed:
- Google account identifier — for sign-in and to associate cloud saves with your account
- Game progress data — synced to Google Play Games Services for cross-device continuity
- Public display name — shown on leaderboards (provided by Google Play Games)
You can disable online features at any time in the game's Settings screen and continue playing offline.
2. Optional Analytics
NeuronIdle uses PostHog analytics only if you allow it. Analytics help us understand where players get stuck, which screens are confusing, and which features are actually used.
For analytics, we do not collect your name, email address, advertising ID, precise location, contacts, payment information, or device fingerprint. Analytics events use a random pseudonymous identifier generated on first launch. This identifier is not linked to your real identity, but data-protection laws may still treat it as personal data because it can distinguish one app installation from another.
Analytics events may include app version, selected language, visited in-game screens, and gameplay milestones such as tutorial progress, first sale, first chassis upgrade, or similar progression events.
Events generated offline are stored on your device and sent the next time you connect — and only if analytics consent is still on.
We do not use this data for advertising profiles, behavioural marketing, or cross-app tracking.
Analytics are disabled unless you consent on first launch. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Analytics. The game works the same whether analytics are enabled or disabled.
Analytics events are retained for 12 months and then deleted or aggregated. PostHog acts as our data processor under a Data Processing Agreement. Analytics data is hosted in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany); no analytics data leaves the EU. Where you live outside the EU/EEA, cross-border transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent legal safeguards required by your local law (e.g. Brazil LGPD, Mexico LFPDPPP, Thailand PDPA).
3. Public Leaderboard (optional)
NeuronIdle has an opt-in public leaderboard. It is disabled by default. The first time you turn it on in Settings → Leaderboard visibility, a consent popup appears summarising what gets shared — Accept activates the leaderboard, Decline keeps it off. This opt-in is independent from analytics — turning one on does not turn the other on.
When leaderboard visibility is ON, we send the following to our backend for ranking and public display:
- The same pseudonymous identifier used by analytics
- Your chosen nickname (set in Settings, shown publicly on the leaderboard)
- Your best brain sale payout (in Cu — the ranking metric)
- Context for each row: model tier, brain quality %, sale source (Black Market or contract), and timestamp
What is public: your nickname and your best sale payout are visible to all players on the in-game leaderboard. By enabling visibility you consent to this public display.
What is not collected: for the leaderboard we do not collect your name, email, address, payment information, or any other personal identifier beyond the pseudonymous ID and the chosen nickname.
Processor: Supabase, Inc. Data is hosted in the
EU (Ireland).
Retention: your best-sale row stays on the
leaderboard while visibility is ON. Turning visibility OFF stops
new submissions but leaves your existing row in place to preserve
historical leaderboard integrity. To delete the row entirely, email
us (see Contact) with your pseudonymous ID — we will remove it
within 30 days.
4. Advertisements
NeuronIdle displays optional rewarded advertisements via Google AdMob. Watching ads is never required and only used to claim in-game rewards.
AdMob may collect: an advertising identifier, IP address, device information, and ad interactions. Ad personalization can be controlled in your device's privacy settings. See Google's Privacy Policy for full details.
5. In-App Purchases
The game offers optional in-app purchases of Neurons (Nu), the premium currency. Purchases are processed exclusively through Google Play Billing.
NeuronIdle does not store payment information. All transactions are handled by Google Play according to its Terms of Service. In-app purchases are not required for full enjoyment of the game.
6. Third-Party Services
NeuronIdle minimises data collection. The integrated services are:
- PostHog — anonymous game analytics (opt-in, see Section 2)
- Supabase — public leaderboard backend (opt-in, see Section 3)
- Google AdMob — rewarded video ads (when ads are requested or shown)
- Google Play Services — billing for in-app purchases
- Google Play Games Services — sign-in, achievements, and cloud save (opt-in)
7. Data Storage and Security
Local game data is stored in your device's protected app storage and is removed when you uninstall the game.
Online data (cloud saves, leaderboards) is stored by Google Play Games Services subject to Google's infrastructure and security. Cloud saves are signed with HMAC-SHA256 to detect tampering. Online data handling complies with applicable data protection laws including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, your local data-protection law (GDPR in the EU/UK, LGPD in Brazil, LFPDPPP in Mexico, PDPA in Thailand, and similar regimes elsewhere) typically gives you the right to:
- access the personal data we process about you
- request correction of inaccurate data
- request deletion of your data
- request portability of your data
- object to processing
- withdraw consent for analytics at any time — Settings → Analytics
- lodge a complaint with your national data-protection authority (e.g. ÚOOÚ in the Czech Republic, ICO in the UK, CNIL in France, ANPD in Brazil, INAI in Mexico, PDPC in Thailand)
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We respond within 30 days.
9. Children
NeuronIdle is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. Age thresholds vary by jurisdiction — for example 13 under US COPPA, 16 under EU/UK GDPR, 18 under Brazilian LGPD. The app is rated PEGI 3 and is suitable for general audiences. If a parent or guardian believes a minor has provided personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top. If a change materially affects how your data is processed, we will provide notice in the app or ask for consent again where required by law.
